Happy To Be A Hero!!!

Job Title:

Last Name:

5th Grade

Welcome to the webpage of Mr. Delawter!

I am very excited to be part of the Whittier Hero Family!  This is my 8th year teaching and the first in 5th grade.  Throughout my teaching career I have taught in a few different counties.  I spent 1 year in Loudoun County Virginia (Steuart Weller Elementary), 5 years in Washington County (Eastern Elementary), and now 2 years back home in Frederick where I have always wanted to be.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I attended Chesapeake Community College where I earned an AA in Liberal Arts and Sciences.  I then enrolled at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) earning a BA in Psychology.  Finally, I attended Frostburg State University where I recieved my MA in Teaching (Elem. Ed.).

I am a product of Frederick County where I have lived my entire life.  I attended Thomas Johnson High School and Catoctin High School (where I graduated) playing baseball all four years.  I was blessed through hard work and dedication to receive scholarships to continue to play baseball through college at Chesapeake and UMBC.

These days I enjoy exercising, playing golf, coaching baseball, and spending time with my family.  This spring I will again be coaching baseball at Catoctin High School.  My wife and I currently reside in Frederick with our 2 year old son and 5 year old yellow lab.

It is my goal to make each year of teaching better than the last, and I am pumped to get started and make a positive impact on all of you!
