Welcome to 3rd grade at Whittier Elementary School. My name is Jaime Chevalier and I am your student’s classroom teacher. What a wonderful group of kids you’ve sent me! This is my 7th year teaching at Whittier and I couldn’t be happier to spend it in 3rd grade with so many faces and names that I have grown to know throughout my years here. Prior to my move to 3rd grade I taught Kindergarten. I am so excited for this new learning adventure. I went to Hood College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (K-3). This May I will graduate from Hood College with my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction (K - 5). Prior to this school year I mentored new hires in our building. This year I am taking time to concentrate on my transition to 3rd grade and completing my Action Research Project. I am representing the team as our grade level leader. On a personal note, I was born and raised in Frederick, Maryland and attended Frederick County Public Schools. My husband, Emma (little 5 lb dog) and I live in Frederick. I love family, pizza, nature, books, movies and coffee. This summer was busy and fun but I am excited to be back at school. As elementary teachers, we provide a child with their first idea of what school can be. We strive to create a love for learning in each student that arrives in our classrooms. We truly love what we do! Let’s make it a great year!
