A little about Mrs. De La Rosa

I was born and grew up in Baltimore County, MD.  While in high school, I participated in marching band, concert band, jazz band, all-county band, all-state band, all-eastern band and played piano for the show choir.  I attended Shepherd College (now University), and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education.  I also have my Masters of Music Education degree from Shenandoah University and my administrative certification from Hood College.

When I graduated from Shepherd, my first job was teaching elementary general and vocal music at a school in Montgomery County, MD.  I only taught there for 1 year, because I was offered and accepted a position with the Waynesboro Area School District in Waynesboro, PA.   I taught elementary general, vocal and instrumental music in Waynesboro for 7 years.   During this time, a series of events brought me to Frederick County Public Schools, where I am currently in my 16th year of teaching.  I taught middle school band and theater arts for 2 years, but always knew that elementary school was my first love.  I accepted a position as an elementary school instrumental music teacher, and this is where I hope to stay!

I currently reside in Frederick, MD with my husband Kevin, and my children Andrew, Blair and Kaitlynn.  My kids all attend or attended Frederick County Public Schools.
