My name is Wendy Rubin and I am happy to be joining the first grade team at Urbana Elementary this year. I have previously worked for Montgomery County Public Schools and came to Frederick County eight years ago. I have taught various grade levels and have been an intervention teacher for the past four years. My passion is to inspire, challenge and prepare students for the future and to ensure that every student reach their full potential. I have always found teaching to be an incredibly rewarding experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to to teach your child and look forward to a great year ahead.
I grew up in Baltimore and moved to Frederick County 19 years ago. I have two wonderful children and an amazing husband. My family enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors and playing with our dog, Willow. I also volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children giving them a voice in court that may not be otherwise heard.
