Hello, I'm Mark Wiles. This is my 16th year here at Urbana as well as my 16th year working for FCPS. I'm a Frederick County native, growing up and residing in Thurmont. As a PE teacher, I see all students K-5 throughout the day.
In PE, my goal is to provide a variety of activities for each child to try throughout the course of the year in hopes that they find something that they will love and want to participate in for life. I hope that students find the gym to be a place that requires effort, sweat, and patience as they discover the rewards of skill improvement, better health, and most importantly the fun social experiences gained from sports. As an undergrad, I spent the first two years of college as an elementary education major at Mount St. Mary's. I transfered to Shepherd Universisty when I changed my major. I graduated in 2000 from Shepherd with a B.A. in Physical Education and Health. I'm certified to teach K-12. I earned a masters degree from McDaniel in Exercise Science and Physical Education with a concentration in Administration I coached high school baskeball for 13 years. I enjoy playing and watching soccer (Liverpool), college basketball (Michigan), golf, baseball (Orioles) and football (Michigan and Oakland Raiders). I have been to 14 major league baseball stadiums with my favorites being Wrigley Field and Kauffman Stadium. The best way to contact me is via e-mail. I check this several times a day.
