Grading

The purpose of grades is to open and maintain communication about student performance among school, student and the home. Grades provide feedback and guidance and are a form of reinforcement. Since success breeds success, a teacher’s task is to organize and structure content and activities that will provide opportunities for successful experiences for all students.

While the format of grading may have changed, the following characteristics still lead to productivity and help students achieve their hightest potential:

·         Product quality

·         Independent application of knowledge, skills and processes

·         Progress

·         Participation

·         Announced deadlines
