## Kidspiration: Math View

Kidspiration 3 now features a math view that allows users to work with virtual math manipulatives! Teachers have access to color tiles, pattern blocks, base 10 blocks, fraction tiles, fraction boxes, and an interactive math workspace that makes cleaning up from math class a breeze!  Use the math tools during direct instruction with your computer connected to the projector and have the kids follow along with the real manipulatives OR take the kids to the lab to have the whole lesson digital.

Resources: Kidspiration Toolbars (PDF) - LA and Math toolbars labeled

Color Tiles

Use Color Tiles to illustrate addition, subtraction, area, perimeter, patterning, multiplication arrays, and so much more!

Pattern Blocks

Pattern blocks are a wonderful way to teach symmetry, shapes, geometry, patterns, and more.

Base 10 Blocks

With Kidspiration 3's base 10 blocks, you have the ability to use different colors of blocks to illustrate different numbers. Combine sets of 10 to make new numbers or break them apart to show subtraction.  The rubber stamp "X" tool allows you to cross out the blocks that you have "subtracted".  Use the same base 10 blocks to illustrate decimals for higher grades.

Fraction Tiles

Use fraction tiles to identify parts of a whole, equivalent fractions, addition and subtraction of fractions, and so much more.

Fraction Boxes

With fraction boxes, you decide which fractional part will be represented in each box. This makes finding the least common demominator easy!

Finally, the math textbox in Kidspiration 3 makes writing out math problems easier for your students. You can write vertical math problems, use the division symbol, or truly make a fraction that has the numerator on top of the demoninator.
