Welcome Cougars !
Dear Parents,
As a graduate of Catoctin High School, I am proud to call myself a cougar again. I am excited to meet you and jump into learning this year!
An educator named Rita Pierson one said, “every child deserves a champion, an adult will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can be.” This is what I aim to achieve every day with my students. My hope is that throughout the year, we can build a partnership that allows your child’s unique gifts and talents to be utilized as pathways for learning.
Meet Mrs. Pickett
I have wanted to be a teacher since elementary school. I struggled in school with learning to read. This experience empowered me to want to make a difference as a teacher. I graduated from Hood College with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I also received my Master’s Degree from Hood College as a Literacy Specialist. For the past 12 years, I have worked at Walkersville Elementary School as a classroom teacher and a special education teacher.
Parents as Partners
I am excited to be your child’s case manager this year! The more I know about your child, the better I can meet his or her needs.
I am in the process of creating a Parents as Partners Questionnaire. Please check back later and click to the posted link I will have here.
