Hi, I’m Renee Myers. I am a special education resource teacher at Thurmont Primary School.
I graduated with a BS Degree from Bloomsburg University. After moving to Frederick, I worked in Frederick County as a substitute teacher and then an instructional assistant in a special education pre-k classroom. I realized a love for working with children with special needs and began attending Hood College and earned my Master's Degree in Special Education in 1998.
Once I became certified in special education I worked at CSAAC (Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children) for 3 years. I then returned to FCPS and worked at Infants and Toddlers, and Spring Ridge Elementary School. I came to Thurmont Primary School in the fall of 2001. My goal each year is to find the strengths in the children I work with and help them be successful in their education and for them to enjoy school and feel good about themselves.
I live in the Thurmont area with my family and we enjoy fun family vacations each year to enrich our lives. We also enjoy attending Yankee baseball games and Penn State Football games. I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, reading and walking.
