Hi! I am Kelly Boutin. I am the Literacy Specialist at Sabillasville Elementary.

I have been teaching for 32 years. I have been with Frederick County Public Schools for 29 years and I spent 3 years teaching in Fayetteville, N.C.  I spent the first 19 years teaching grades K, 1 and 2.  Then, I taught reading intervention for 7 years before becoming a Literacy Specialist 6 years ago.

My role as a literacy specialist is to work with small groups of students at a time to support and build their reading skills and to support teachers with best practices in reading.

I provide supplemental reading support in addition to the reading instruction students receive in their classroom. The extra reading support is to provide those students who need it, with the opportunity to progress at an accelerated rate. My small groups meet every day. We read books, study words, learn phonic rules, practice reading strategies and write too!

If you need to reach me at any time with any questions or concerns about your child’s literacy skills, you can call me at 240-236-6009.
