Welcome to Parkway Physical Education!

Parkway P.E. values the importance of gaining skills, learning behaviors and building relationships to lead a healthy lifestyle. Students will explore a variety of activities that strengthen their mental, emotional and physical self and allow opportunities for success to promote lifelong fitness.

This year in P.E.:

Pappy Lorenzen Cross Country Meet - Saturday, November 4
Students in grades 4 and 5 can qualify for our Cross Country Team to represent Parkway at this county-wide event. Participants will compete in a one mile cross country run at Keys Stadium.

Turkey Bowl - Thursday, November 16
Students in grades 4 and 5 with the highest bowling scores in PE class will compete in our annual Turkey Bowl at Terrace Lanes. The winner will take home a Thanksgiving turkey!

Jump Rope for Heart - Tuesday, February 27
Students in grades 1 through 5 will raise money and awareness for healthy hearts by participating in our Jump Rope for Heart event. This event will take place during the school day.

Evening of the Arts - Thursday, April 26
Students in 2nd grade will perform a choreographed dance at our annual Evening of the Arts. We will perform before the chorus concert during the school day and at the concert in the evening. 

Hugh B. Nolan Track Meet - Tuesday, May 22
Students in grades 4 and 5 can qualify for our Spring Track Team to represent Parkway at this county-wide event. This track meet includes field events such as shot put and long jump and running events including short and long distances and team relays.

Field Day - Thursday, May 31
ALL students will celebrate an awesome school year by participating in Field Day. This is an all day event jam packed with fun including water games, cooperative activities and student vs. teacher tug-of-war! We are always looking for volunteers to make this event possible!
