Stacie Ragle

I am Stacie Ragle, 1st grade teacher at Orchard Grove Elementary School.

About myself:   I have been in Frederick County Public Schools since 2002, but started out my teaching career years before that in the great state of Texas, where I graduated from Tarleton State University.  Here in MD, I have completed many graduate hours and have my Master's Equivalency in Elementary Education. I am married and have three wonderful daughters, all school-age.  I really enjoy teaching young children and love to see that 'lightbulb' come on as they discover their own potential!  For fun and relaxing, I enjoy time with my family and animals, reading historical fiction, and a variety of outdoor activities.

I also enjoy working with our parents as we watch your children grow and show heart, brain, and body power here at Orchard Grove Elementary!  Please know you are welcome to contact me with questions or concerns.  I feel it's important for your child to know their parents and school are a team to support them through these important elementary years.

Reading is emphasized, and each student brings home books to read daily.  There may also be some math practices that go home during skill development of math standards we are working on. Your support by providing a quiet, calm place and time at home for your child to read and work on their words and/or math, is greatly appreciated!

High frequency, or Sight words can be found in your child's reading bag as well.  Your child will need to know how to read and later, spell, all 100 words on our list later in the year.

Your home-support of your child's homework is actually a critical avenue for success in the classroom each day!  Thank you!
