Science and Social Studies

Science and Social Studies

In third grade there are many exciting and educational Social Studies and Science Units. In Social Studies, students learn about people of the nations of the world, communities, political science, character counts, and geography. In Science, students will have units about our rocks, soil and fossils, populations, and chemical testing.
To best meet the needs of all students, each third grade teacher will be teaching a specific unit. At the beginning of the year all students will be studying a social studies and science unit with his/her homeroom teacher. The students will stay in their classroom all year. The difference is the teachers and supplies will rotate from room to room. We will have six rotations throughout the year. A schedule is included so you know which teacher is teaching each subject. We look forward to a great year of learning!
