Fifth grade students are expected to:
- demonstrate best effort
- be respectful
- be safe
- be kind
- walk in a 4S line
Students that demonstrate these qualitites may be recognized with NMES tickets in the classroom. Tickets are entered in a daily drawing for "the claw". Students that follow these expectations are also rewarded weekly with an extra recess on Monday morning.
Students that do not meet these expectations will be asked to write their name in the classroom book and record which rule was broken and how. If a student writes his or her name in the book 3 or more times in one week, that student will not earn extra recess on Monday. Instead, that time will be spent writing a letter home about why he or she missed extra recess.
