Brief Biography

I am excited to be continuing here at NMES as the Advanced Academics Specialist, Reading Interventionist, and Math Interventionist. This is my sixth year in FCPS. I was the magnet 5th/4th grade teacher for 4 years.   Prior to this, I was living in Northern Virginia and taught in Loudoun County Public Schools at Liberty Elementary. During my time in Loudoun County I taught 5th and 3rd grade and special education.

When growing up, I lived in a small town outside of Rochester, NY called Honeoye Falls. Rochester is the birthplace for my favorite grocery store...Wegmans! My husband works for Wegmans in Columbia. This is the reason for our move to New Market. I am happy to have just celebrated my 7th anniversary with my husband. My 3 year old son is excited to welcome his new sibling to our family this October. We rescued a Boxer/Rotweiller puppy at the end of July 2012. Her name is Tater.

State University College at Brockport was the place that I did my undergraduate schooling. I majored in Arts for Children and minored in both Art and English. I also completed my Masters in Education in Rochester at Nazareth College. My program certified me in both general education as well as special education.

I have many hobbies that I spend my spare time doing. My husband and I are civil war reenactors. Some of my other loves are: drawing, hiking, quilting, sewing (I make all of my outfits and my sons for reenacting, just starting making them for my husband) and making children's books. I finally got a piano last summer and have enjoyed having the summer to get lost in the melodies of my favorite tunes.

I'm excited to be working with all the families at NMES for another school year!
