The Fire House was so much fun! We saw the fire truck, an ambulance, and got to watch a fire prevention video. Ask your child what they liked the most. Starting the 11th we will be focusing on words that are the same or different. To practice at home you can ask if words are the same or different. For example “ball and ball” (same) or “bat and bag” (different). We are also still discussing numbers up to 10 and creating sets up to 10. We will continue to discuss fire safety and poison prevention. Please join us Tuesday night for Literacy Night.

Next week is all about fire safety. Kindergarten will be going to the firehouse with our language arts classes either on October 6th or October 7th. In class we will be discussing, reading and writing all about the firehouse. We will be working on the word wall word “here” and practicing the sounds of the letters H and J.  We will also be working on word boundaries. For example, next week your child should know how many words are in the sentence “I like to go to school.” In mathematics we will continue working on number sense and matching sets with numerals.
