November 29th

Thank you all for taking the time to meet with me to discuss your child’s progress. It was nice to see everyone. This week we will be learning more about 3D shapes in math as well as exploring more difficult 2D shapes. In language arts we will be focusing on the word wall word “said”. We will also be discussing rhyming. Be sure to continue practicing rhyming at home!  In social studies we will begin our study of Hanukkah for our unit about different holidays in December.

November 17

The next two weeks are going to be so much fun! Report cards will be going home today. Next week we will be learning all about Thanksgiving. Our new word wall word is going to be “said”. We will continue to work on syllables and begin rhyming. In math we are continuing shapes. We will be focusing on 3-D shapes and more challenging 2-D shapes. I hope to see you at Breakfast and Books this Friday!

October 29th

Next week we will be working on the word “you”. We will also learning about the “y” and “h” sounds. Keep reading the little books and word ring every night for homework. In math we will continue learning about numbers. We will also begin to discuss shapes. Just as a reminder, there will not be school Monday or Tuesday of next week for students. On Thursday, November 4th, there will be a cultural arts program. The Blue Ribbon school-wide picture has been rescheduled for November 5th please have your child wear ROYAL BLUE that day.

October 21st

Next week should be so much fun! Our word wall word is going to be “and”. We will be working on the letters W and C and writing about Halloween. In math we are going to be doing some fun pumpkin math by working with numbers, shapes, weight and size. In science we will also be discussing pumpkins. Remember to wear royal blue shirts on October 27th and to bring in any extra royal blue clothing for others to wear. Our school wide picture should take place around 1:30. October 29th is our Halloween party at 2:15.
