About Mrs. King
Welcome to my website! I would like to share a little bit about myself.
This is my 12th year teaching at New Market, but my 20th year teaching since I graduated from University of Maryland with my Bachelor's degree. I have also earned my Masters Degree in Reading from Towson University. My professional teaching experience includes working with prekindergarten through fourth grade students. I have also engaged in private tutoring as well as tutoring through FCPS Homeless Tutoring programs for the past four years. Finally, I have participated in curriculum writing for two years for both the Social Studies as well as the Advanced Academics office of FCPS. During the past several summers, I have taught camp through the Young Scholars programs as well as the Summer Enrichment Camp.
I currently live on a farm in New Market with my husband of 25 years. My daughter and my son were both busy with the Montgomery County 4H Beef club where we raise steers and cows/calves. My children have competed both locally, regionally, and nationally. Now, they have both headed off to college - UMCP and Towson respectively. My son is currently involved in the Towson Marching Band as a freshman and my daughter is busy establishing her life as a transfer junior. We also have two dogs and four cats.
