Each year small groups meet to help students cope with specific issues. It is very therapeutic for children to work through their issues in a group setting, because they learn they are not alone in their struggles. In the past, small groups included Friendship Club (Social Skills), Self-Control, Loss, Organization, Time Management with Study Skills, and Anger Management. If you feel your child would benefit from small group work, please contact me.
The counselor is available for short term one-on-one counseling and support for students experiencing emotional difficulties that interfere with their learning. If a child continues to struggle with issues parents/guardians might be asked to consider outside community resources for longer term counseling.
