Myersville Summer Reading Initiative

Read 4 or More books and avoid the summer slide.  "Summer slide" is a term used to describe the decline in reading achievement that many children experience from being away from school.  Research has shown that the amount of time children spend reading for fun is a key predictor of academic achievement.  Grades Kindergarten through Second grade can read 4 or more books on Raz-Kids to earn a book of their choice in the Fall.  Third and Fourth graders will fill out the brochure page with 4 or more books to earn a book in the Fall.
