MVM is a vibrant and complex community with many wonderful happenings, and it is so important to our continued success, for all of our community members stay informed and connected! There are lots of ways news is shared within our school community. Please read the following overview of the various Communications channels at MVM, then click the link to add and update your family's contact information.
School News Distribution List (via Google Groups) - This is our main distribution list. Parents must sign up for this list to receive Weekly eNews Updates. The eNews Update is our Parent Newsletter and main source of regular communication to Parents and Staff. GC Meeting Minutes will also be distributed here.
**It is mandatory for at least one member of each MVM family to sign up for the School News Distribution List. The deadline to sign up is September 15, 2016. ALL families must enter updated information, even if you currently receive emails from School News. As of October 1, 2016, a NEW list will be created with updated information.**
Community Chat Forum (via Google Groups) - This is our community forum. Anyone within our community can post and reply to ALL here (Parents, Committee Chairs, Teachers and Staff). This forum is used to communicate news, needs, and happenings within our community. It is recommended that at least one member of each family signs up for our Community Chat Forum.
Find Out First - FOF is a FCPS service that provides urgent updates and other FCPS news such as school closings, emergency notices, and county-wide reminders, via email and/or text. FOF is also used by MVM Administration to share urgent updates and news. FOF will only be used to share PUBLIC information, as anyone in our wider community may sign up.
**It is strongly recommended that at least one member of each family signs up for Find Out First.**
Classroom News - You will likely receive periodic updates directly from your child's teacher. The type and frequency of classroom communications varies by teacher, and electronic updates will be sent to whichever email address(es) the teacher has on file for your family. Please contact your child's teacher with any questions.
Facebook - Facebook is used occasionally, to share PUBLIC information to our "fans" and the wider community.

The annual contact form allows parents to add and update contact information for the following to be shared for a School Directory, School News Distribution List, Community Chat Forum, and areas of interest for volunteer preferences. If you have already completed this form for the contact form for this school year and just need to update your information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
