All About Me
Teaching brings me great joy and I am thrilled to begin the 2017-2018 school year! As I transition to being a fifth grade teacher, I want you to know that I am so excited to work with you and your child. This year will be fun and challenging but full of laughter, learning, and adventures. Before we embark on this journey together I thought I’d share a little bit about me.
My husband and I reside in Walkersville with our two children, a dog, and two cats. Our son (Easton) is in first grade and our daughter (Bennett) just turned three. When I have a rare spare moment to relax, I enjoy crafting, gardening, and watching movies.
My family moved to Frederick County the summer before I began high school. I attended Brunswick High and graduated from Hood College in 2007 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. In May of this year, I obtained my Master’s Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University.
This year begins my eleventh year teaching at Monocacy Elementary. I taught second grade for two years before looping to third grade, where I’ve spent the past eight years. Before working as public school teacher, I worked as a Residential Counselor at The Jefferson School. I absolutely LOVE teaching and learning and hope to instill that same love for learning in my students so that they become lifelong learners.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns as establishing an open line of communication between home and school is essential for a successful school year. I look forward to a great year together!
