My name is Christy DeFrance. I am the school counselor at Monocacy Elementary. I have been working for Frederick County Public Schools for 26 years. I was a classroom teacher and then Reading Recovery teacher for 13 years. This is my thirteenth year working as a school counselor. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from West Virginia University in 1989. I began teaching during the 1989-1990 school year and that summer began working on my master's degree in school counseling. I earned my master's degree in School Counseling from Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College, in December of 1995. I am the proud mother of a 20 year old son named Josh who enjoys filming, editing and skateboarding. I enjoy scrapbooking, dancing and being involved in my church. I enjoy coming to work every day and helping children with their feelings and to solve problems. I believe in every child and helping them on their pathway to success!
