I am in my fifth year of teaching general music at Monocacy Elementary School. I received my bachelors degree from University of North Texas in music performance and my masters of music degree from Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University in music performance. After teaching college for over seven years, I went back to school at Towson University and received my teaching certificate in K-12 music education.
The music program at Monocacy Elementary provides musical groups in choral singing and Orff mallet and drum ensembles. I love providing a time and space for the students to explore their creative side. My favorite part about teaching music is I have the amazing opportunity to watch them grow musically from Kindergarten through 5th grade. I especially enjoy watching students work together to create something completely new. I truly believe I have the best job!
I am married to a member of the United States Navy band in Washington, DC, and I have 2 girls, who are students at MoES. I love hiking, weight lifting, and learning new instruments.
