Hawks fly past Knights

Middletown saw its seven game winning streak end at the hands of Urbana by a score of 4-2.  The Knights end the regular season 8-5-1 and now await Monday's playoff draw.

The match saw MHS play its first half with more confidence then their first meeting against UHS at the Frederick County Tournament.  A nice combination, however, put the Hawks up 1-0 at half.

In the second half, despite the best work of the Knights' defense, the Hawks added two more before Middletown finally struck back.  Scott McMunn provided the assist for a well-taken left-footed blast by Josh Greene to cut the score to 3-1.

Urbana would score once more before Greene scored another off a pass from Gary Higginbothem.  Unfortunately, it was not enough on this night.

Urbana moves to face Linganore in Saturday night's Frederick County Championship at Mt. St. Mary's.

The Black and Orange will know Monday their opponent for their playoff match.  Depending on the draw the Knights could be hosting or start out on the road.  Good luck Knights!

UHS JV 4, MHS 0.  Middletown JV finishes its season 6-4-2.
