Knight blocked by 'Roaders

Another game with a Frederick County foe, another difficult match.  This time it was the visiting Brunswick Railroaders, last year's 1A State Finalist, who presented a stiff challenge for MHS.  Despite chances for both sides, and two overtime periods, the match ended in a 0-0 tie.

For Middletown, the shutout was the second in three matches to open the season.  Goalkeeper Shane Falcinelli made several saves.  Defenders Luke Verdi, John Remsberg, Matt Nickols, Gary Higginbothem, Dylan Smith, Jeff Meek, & Jacob Hargett all worked hard in the back, and, along with the midfielders and forwards, did well against a strong and determined Railroaders side.

Looking to keep the defensive streak going, the Knights will travel to Frederick on Thursday in what will surely be another well-contested intra-county match.  Good luck Knights!

JV: MHS 3, BHS 0.  Goals, Connor Smith (2), Cedric Ayenu; Assists, Brett Dailey, Lucas Tatem.  Will Belke (GK) shutout.
