Hello! My name is Karyn Snyder and I am the Teacher Specialist for Student Achievement and STEM Education. This is my first year as a Lincoln Panther and WOW am I already so lucky to be a part of the Lincoln Family!!
This is my 11th year as an educator in Frederick County Public Schools. I have both early childhood and elementary education experience as I have previously taught Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 4th grade. I have also served as an intervention teacher and Title I support. In my Title I support position I had the honor to work closely with all students and families as I planned for and facilitated various family engagement events. Family engagement is one of my passions as an educator and I look forward to being involved in family engagement events at Lincoln!
STEM education and making connections to your child's/children's science curriculum is one of my main roles as the STEM teacher specialist. I am ecstatic to bring more STEM education and science instruction to all students this school year and look forward to inspiring students through my STEM choice boards and instruction.
My home is in Martinsburg, West Virginia where I live only a few minutes away from one of my youngest sisters, brother-in-law, and two nieces. I have two other sisters, one older and one younger. My youngest sister is also a student within FCPS. I enjoy being outside where I am able to hike, play tennis, run, and take walks. Family and friends are a big part of my life so many weekends I enjoy their company. Some other fun facts: I love caramel macchiatos, shrimp fried rice, going to the beach, and the fall leaves!
I look forward to a great year with all of you and getting to know more of the Lincoln Family!
All the best,
