I am very excited to join the Lincoln community as a math intervention teacher this year in my 15th year of teaching. I graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Inclusive Elementary Education and received my Master's degree from the State University at Brockport. I have worked the last 6 years at Ballenger Creek Elementary School. Five of those years were as a math intervention teacher and last year I taught 2nd grade. I have also taught 4th grade in both New York and Texas and preschool here in Frederick.
Originally from a small island in New York, Frederick has been my home since 2006. When not teaching, I enjoy being outside, running, hiking, playing basketball or camping with my husband, our two kids and our dog Reilly. We also spend a lot of time cheering our kids on at their sporting events or rooting for our favorite teams. Go Bills and Sabres!
Math is by far my favorite subject to teach because I love watching the different ways that kids approach their math thinking and all the different ways we can solve problems. I love watching students challenge themselves and grow their math minds. Math can be challenging but with hard work, perseverance and a CAN do attitude, growth can happen!
