Welcome to Kindergarten!
Hello! My name is Mrs. Lewis and I am so excited to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year! I know that starting school can cause a lot of apprehension for students and parents alike, but I want you to know I am always available to help answer any questions or concerns you may have.
To begin, you’re probably wondering about me… I have been working towards becoming the best teacher I can be ever since I was in the first grade. I grew up in Frederick County and attended Frederick County Schools for elementary, middle, and high school. After high school, I decided to move away for college (but not too far!) and I attended Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. During my four years at Shippensburg I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education as well as a great wealth of knowledge and experiences.
After college, I decided to return to Frederick County to teach and give back to the community that has taught and given me so much! I completed my Master’s degree in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL) through McDaniel College in 2016 and I am currently working towards my certification for Administration. This will be my seventh year teaching in Frederick County! I taught for five years at Orchard Grove Elementary in the fourth grade and in Kindergarten and this will be my second year in Kindergarten at Lincoln.
I do spend a lot of time at school, but when I’m not at school I enjoy going to Orioles games with my husband, playing with our puppy, Brody, and spending time with family and friends.
I am always open to new ideas and suggestions and have found that there is nothing that will help a child more than a positive home-school connection. If you have any questions now, or throughout the school year, please feel free to contact me by phone or via email (seereverse side) and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I am sure that this will be a fantastic year and I look forward to working with you and your child!
