Job Title:

Sarah Lewis

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Lewis and I am so excited to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year!  I know that starting school can cause a lot of apprehension for students and parents alike, but I want you to know I am always available to help answer any questions or concerns you may have.

To begin, you’re probably wondering about me… I have been working towards becoming the best teacher I can be ever since I was in the first grade.  I grew up in Frederick County and attended Frederick County Schools for elementary, middle, and high school.  After high school, I decided to move away for college (but not too far!) and I attended Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.  During my four years at Shippensburg I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education as well as a great wealth of knowledge and experiences.

After college, I decided to return to Frederick County to teach and give back to the community that has taught and given me so much!  I completed my Master’s degree in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL) through McDaniel College this past December and am currently working towards my certification for Administration.  This will be my sixth year in Frederick County, but my first year at Lincoln!  I taught the past five years at Orchard Grove Elementary in the fourth grade and in Kindergarten. This year I will also be the Kindergarten Master teacher for FCPS and will be helping new Kindergarten teachers across the county to become the best they can be!
I do spend a lot of time at school, but when I’m not at school I enjoy going to Orioles games with my husband, playing with our puppy, Brody, and spending time with family and friends.

I am always open to new ideas and suggestions and have found that there is nothing that will help a child more than a positive home-school connection.  If you have any questions now, or throughout the school year, please feel free to contact me by phone or via email (see reverse side) and I will get back to you as soon as I can.  I am sure that this will be a fantastic year and I look forward to working with you and your child!
