Hello! My name is Courtney Waters and I have been teaching first grade at Kemptown since 2015. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Stevenson University. Currently, I’m pursuing my Master's Degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction from Hood College.
I grew up in Columbia, MD and moved to Frederick just a few years ago in 2017 with my husband. We live in New Market with our two dogs, Sophie (Maltese) and Sadie (Goldendoodle). They bring a cherished level of fun, laughter, and energy to our lives. One of our favorite things to do as a family is explore new areas and try new things in the county. We’re really enjoying living in Frederick!
In my spare time, I enjoy being active and spending a lot of time doing outdoor activities like walking my dogs and hiking. Also, I like to read, cook, and be with my family and friends. One of my favorite things to do is to support and cheer on my student’s at their extracurricular activities.
Teaching is my greatest passion and brings so much joy and meaning to my life. I feel thankful and blessed to be able to do what I love in such a wonderful school community with kind and supportive families and co-workers. Thanks for taking time to learn about me!
