Title 1

Title 1 Support

Hillcrest Elementary holds the designated as being a Schoolwide Title 1 school. We receive federal funds to provide additional supports to our students. This is a change from years past when students had to be individually identified and only those students could receive the supports that Title 1 offered. Now, any student needing assistance can benefit from these services.
Supports may be provided in Language Arts and/or Math and most often occur by means of adult interaction and materials of instruction. Students are identified for support based on their grade level status (below, at or above) and how well they perform on county and state assessments. Targeted Intervention Teachers work directly with students to provide additional instruction in the student’s area of need. Monthly conversations between the teachers (Targeted and Classroom) and Specialists (Reading and/or Math) occur to determine student progress. These meetings are chaired by a member of the Administrative Cabinet. Parents are encouraged to meet with the classroom teacher to inquire how their child is doing.
 
Apoyo Titulo 1
 
Hillcrest Elementary sostiene la designada como una escuela Titulo 1. Recibimos fondos federales para proveer apoyo adicional a nuestros estudiantes. Este es un cambio de años previos cuando estudiantes tenia que ser individualmente indentificado y solo ellos podian recibir apoyo que Titulo 1 ofrece. Ahora, cualquier estudiante necesitando asistencia puede beneficiar de estos servicios.
Apoyo puede ser en Arte de Lenguaje o Matematica y muchas veces ocurre por interaccion y materiales de instrucion del adulto. Estudiantes son identificados para apoyo basado en su nivel de grado (por debajo o arriba) y que bien examinan en evaluaciones del condado y estatal. Maestras de intervención trabajan directamente con los estudiantes para proveer instrucion adicional en las áreas de necesidad del estudiante. Conversaciones mensual entre maestros (intervención y aula) y especialistas (lectura o matemática) ocurren para determinar el progreso del estudiante. Estas juntas son compartidas por miembros del Cabinete Administrativo. Padres son animados para reunirse con la maestra del aula para saber del progresando de su hijo(a).
