Job Title:

Missy Kearchner

5th Grade

Welcome to my homepage!  This is my 14th year teaching.  I began my career at Emmitsburg Elementary as a third grade teacher.  I taught third grade for three years and then moved to fourth grade for a year.  I began my fifth year as an intervention teacher and continued providing those service for three years.   This year I am continuing in fifth grade and I am looking forward to working with another great group of students.

On a personal note,  I reside in Caroll Valley with my son, dog, fish and cat.  I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Maryland and my graduate degree in reading from Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. I also attended Hood College where I got a post Masters' certification in Educational Leadership and Adminstration. I am currently working on a second Master's degree in Math from McDaniel College.

Over the summer, my son, Lincoln, and I traveled all over. We visited family in Mrytle Beach, looked for BigFoot in New York, took a whitewater trip in Ohio, went camping/mudding in West Virginia, and traveled to several day trips around the area.

We are looking forward to meeting all our new friends this year and can't wait to share all our adventures with you and hear all about yours.
