Automotive Technology Instructor
Thanks for visiting and supporting our program!
Hello, my name is Tracey Hicks. I am one of two Automotive Technology Instructors at the Frederick County Career and Technology Center in Frederick, Maryland. My main focus as an educator is to prepare students who have have been accepted into our program with the knowledge and professional skills they need to be successful in their individual career goals. Whether they decide to become an Automotive Technician upon graduating, or decide to continue their education toward another career opportunity like the growing diesel industry, or Mechanical Engineering. Our program will provide them content and training unlike anything they have received so far in school and in life. Please take a moment to check out our program website and contact me if you would like more information. Here is a little background about me. Thanks!
I was born and raised in Maryland and graduated from Middletown High School in 2002. I also was a graduate of the two year Diesel and Automotive Technology Program at CTC in 2002. I graduated from Universal Technical Institute's (UTI) Chicago campus in 2003 with Student of Phase awards in Advanced Electrical and Advanced Engine Diagnostics. I was hired by BMW of Arlington pending my graduation and was selected to attend BMW's Factory 27 week Training program, BMW STEP (Student Technician Education Program) in Orlando,Florida. Upon graduating BMW STEP in 2004, I worked for BMW for 4 more years and then decided to broaden my career by taking a job with an independently owned service facility. I continued to work at different service facilities throughout Maryland, broadening my knowledge in diagnostics, maintenance, repair and training until 2013 when I accepted a position as the Assistant Service Manager with Nissan. I currently hold multiple OEM certifications including BMW, Nissan, Hyundai, KIA, GM, Toyota, and 6 ASE certifications.
