Thank you for visiting the CTC website. A brief biography of my career in education and some other facts about myself are listed below. I check my email on a regular basis and try to reply within 24 hours.

I am a 1990 graduate of Kutztown University. I earned a B.S. degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. During my college career I competed in Track & Field and Rugby. I was able to finance my education through the GI Bill. I served in the Army National Guard from 1985 until 1991.

I began my teaching career at the Victor Cullen Academy in 1992. While at Victor Cullen, I taught GED prep to adjucated youth from Maryland and Washington D.C. I am proud of an 80% success rate on the GED exam over the 3.5 years that I coordinated the program. I was also involved with several community service projects in which I supervised /taught students construction skills at various state parks

I began my career with FCPS in 1996 as a special education teacher at the newly opened Urbana High School. It was an exciting time and wonderful experience to open a brand new school. I was fortunate to assist with the start up of a work based learning program and help with the wrestling team.

In 1999 I tranferred to Catoctin High as a consumer education teacher and a work-based learning coordinator. During my time at Catoctin I began to have an increasing interest in the area of Career and Technology Education. I started a graduate  program in Career and Technology through the University of Maryland - Eastern Shore. I earned a masters degree in Career and Technology in 2007.

In 2006, I assumed the role of Work Based Learning Coordinator and Career Technoloy Teacher at the Frederick County Career and Tech Center. I am fortunate, in my opinion, to have the best job in the school system. I am able to spend time in all of the 21 programs offered at the center and assist students. I have many personal experiences with the dramatic transformation of students and their exposure to career and technology education.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my familiy skiing, kayaking and woodworking. I hope the Career and Technology Center's website has provided an overview of the programs we offer. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
