I grew up in Frederick County and graduated from Middletown High School. After attending York College, I began teaching for FCPS, but moved to New York after completing my first year. During my ten years in New York, I taught for New York City Public Schools, in Brooklyn and Queens. I returned to Maryland in 2000 and spent ten years teaching 5th grade for Fairfax County Public Schools. After having our son, I chose to return to FCPS and have been teaching at Ballenger Creek Elementary since 2016. I live locally and spend much time enjoying all Frederick has to offer with my husband and son. In my spare time, I enjoy tinkering in my wood shop, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
