I have been the speech language pathologist at BCES since August, 2007. Prior to that, I was a stay-at-home mom with my twin boys, Michael and Connor. I have been a speech therapist since 1992. Before becoming a mother, I worked at various hospitals, nursing homes and home care agencies including The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts.
I grew up in a small town in Upstate New York. I attended Paul Smith’s College in Paul Smiths, NY where I earned an Associate’s Degree in Hotel, Restaurant Management. I then transferred to the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management. When I realized that the hospitality industry was not for me, I turned to speech therapy. I earned my Master’s Degree from UMass in Communication Disorders in 1992. As a speech therapist, I’ve worked with adults and children in various medical and educational settings.
