Hello, my name is Luciano P. Pineda, Jr. I am in my twenty-fourth year of teaching. This year I am teaching 6th grade honors and merit language arts classes. This is my eighth year at Ballenger Creek Middle School.  Previously, I taught 7th grade English at Charles Town Junior High School in Charles Town, West Virginia, for 16 years, and 6th and  8th grade language arts here at Ballenger Creek Middle School for the past sseven years. Teaching 6th grade now rounds out my middle school teaching experience by teaching all three grades in the middle school.

For the past five years, I worked on my master's degree. On May 17, 2008, I graduated with honors from Hood College earning a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership. I am now certified as a school administrator.

I grew up in Frederick County and attended Brunswick area schools (elementary, middle, and high schools). I still live in Brunswick with my wife and stepson.

Over the past 15 years, I have been active in about 25 community theater productions in Frederick, Charles Town, and Brunswick.

Educational experience:

Brunswick High School (high school diploma, 1981)

Frederick Community College (AA degree in General Studies, 1983)

Shepherd College (BA degree in Secondary Education, 1986)

Hood College (MS degree in Educational Leadership, 2008)
